Hi Grant, The wax is awesome, I just waxed up my sticks and had a quick blast around the kit. Incredible, feels like the sticks with the tacky rubber on em, but it doesn't make my hands change colour and it smells great. Looking forward to using this going forward and hopefully not flinging my sticks at the wall :D I also noted the great care and attention that went into packing everything, really well presented. It is greatly appreciated and not overlooked, a rare thing to find these days. Cheers, Dan

This review was posted on the NZ Drummers Group by top NZ Drummer Martin Roy Guy: Okey dokey I won’t go TOO in depth here because Drum Set Rescue have got enough about the stuff on their site. But I said I’d say what I think of diddlewax, I wanted to give it a fair go, so after 4 weeks of use (approx) here it is: I would say I’m a bit of a sweater when I play. I love a brand new pair of Vic Firths, the varnish is mint, they are the perfect tackiness for me but I do find it wears off quite quick (maybe 3-4 gigs) and I relegate the sticks to ‘open mic’ or ‘give to students’. That’s where the product comes in! I find on initial application it can be quite ‘lumpy’ but it melts down quick and it does really work! It will leave marks on your snare if you’re rim clicking a lot, but it is what it is. I really like it! I find i can reuse a pair of sticks a lot longer, so it’s a bonus, especially with VF’s getting close to $25/pair now 🙀 We usually play 3 hours a night, and I’ll reapply at halftime so approx 1.5 hours each time. That said, I could happily keep playing on, it’s just nice to have that fresh tackiness again. I also use it very sparingly and have barely taken a chunk out of my first block yet. I’m sure I could lay it on thicker, but this is the way it works for me 🙂 plus I don’t want super waxy hands and I feel like I don’t get waxy or oily at all with this stuff, it’s wicked. But where this has REALLY shone for me is on these rods. I’m playing in ‘little shop of horrors’ down here in queenstown and they asked me to go on rods, no big deal, our theatre doesn’t have a ‘pit’ or the like. I love these rute rods but The handles are a real varnished finish and with a sweat on, they’ve definitely been known to go flying. I’ve been using diddlewax every night (again, applied before the show, and at intermission) and I’m getting on very well with it. So thanks drum set rescue! Simple product, very affordable, all natural and NZ made. If you’re a big sweaty beast like me, give it a bash! 🥁
